Well if this is an unofficial release then they have done a fantastic job! pressing quality is excellent a really quiet pressing, not dead quiet but very, very close. Sound is extremley good as well, infact better than some official releases I have bought this year. To be honest the price this is knocking around for, it is simply a no brainer! I got mine for £10.99!
Interesting... glad to see this get some kind of reissue. The one I bought for a friend was sealed and looked like a legit first issue... but a bit too perfect for a 40 year old release if you know what I mean! I think I'll try and grab this one!
Does anyone know if this was ever bootleged? Seems like a few sealed copies have been turning up recently and they look like they are pristine. I don't quite believe this was ever properly released in the US in 1978. The Japanese pressing (which I believe is the original release) actually has colour photos on the back and the US one is black and white.
i’ve never seen any bootlegs in person myself, nor does anything about the US copy have any indication of being promo only and not actually formally released. the US copy does seem to be more rare than the japanese press however, and from all info the US press actually seems to be the og first pressing and not the japanese pressing. stock copies of the US press to me simply means the record was not distributed widely and sold little upon release, hence unopened backstock being found
All I know is my dad bought his copy in the 1980s. Photos on the back are black and white. Not sure if he bought it in London (home) or in New York..
