the truncated version on the first jap. CD version runs only 6.31 min.
Zulkishicage
Is the last track "Back door man" on every CD version truncated (as with the first issue on CD "UICY-93213")?The 6.17 min found on the original cover must be wrong since the track runs around 6.53 min...

Does anyone else have a copy with ? And The Mysterions pressed on side B at 45rpm?
Nilasida
Mine is exactly as you described . Must be quite common .
Pipet
I created an entry for the mispressed version with the ? and Mysterions version.
Butius
I just bought this secondhand and got totally confused when i listened to sibe b. Good to hear that at Least two other people have the same version.
Bladebringer
Yep. Flipped it over and thought "Hey, this ain't right...."

Can ya blame a guy who writes and plays amazing music with top notch players like Hubert Sumlin for 'not liking' this record?...probably not...the 'updating' of his tunes into 60's psych-rock with half-assed musicianship doesn't really do the Wolf much justice...whereas his OG records sound timeless and fresh, this LP sounds a bit dated and more like a 2nd rate CREAM than the true innovator...The LONDON SESSIONS is a much better record for those needing to hear The Wolf in anything other than his orginal and most terrifying state...or you could just go get the 'Rocking Chair' LP or 'Moaning at Midnight' and hear Chester Burnett and Co in all their glory...
Modar
I agree with most of what you say but with a remix this could be a really good album because the rhythm tracks are good, the drumming and bass are pretty funky and Chester's voice is great. The problem is the fuzz and wah wah guitars which drown out the vocals. Diminish and lose some of them and I reckon this would be a good album.
Utchanat
Sound quality is lacking. Compared with my original and this one sounds very thin. No where near the dynamic range I was hoping for. Disappointed but the music itself is still brilliant.
Delirium
One of the very worst sounding records in my collection. I have no problems with the music. Just horrible sounding vinyl.
in waiting
Too bad my copy was severely warped during shipping and couldn't be replaced. I pre-ordered it on Amazon months before the release, and by the time I got it and complained about it they wre sold out and they didn't have another one to send to me. The good thing is they returned my money and I got to keep it for free. The bad thing is, well, SEVERELY WARPED! After a few years of being compressed against other records and after having bought a better tracking turntable I was finally able to listen to it without any skips and loved it as much as I knew I would. Maybe one day I'll try that baking it in the oven thing, can't do any worse... Apart from that, a great album (sorry Mr. Wolf, for disagreeing with you...).

sax on B4 Three Hundred Pounds Of Joy sounds like eddie harris

When I was a teenager and more of a "blues purist" I hated this album. Then one day many years later I heard it again not knowing who it was at first, and realized it was actually quite good. The versions of "Smokestack Lightning" and "Moanin At Midnight" are hypnotic. (Soundgarden later used this Pete Cosey arrangement of "Smokestack Lightning" on their 1st LP, though they didn't do it justice.)
Jugami
have also a version of this album with red letters and frame on the cover, the label is the yellow/pink with blue/black logo and a thinner vinyl
