Despite achieving only limited commercial success, the band was a major influence on the punk rock movement both in the United States and the United Kingdom. All of the band members adopted pseudonyms ending with the surname Ramone, though none of them were related. They performed 2,263 concerts, touring virtually nonstop for 22 years. They inspired countless bands over several generations, even if they never actually grabbed the gold ring, and it has often been said that they are second only to the Beatles in terms of influence. Everything about them was unique for the times. In an era of bloated ensembles passing themselves off as rock and rollers, the Ramones injected a much needed and, yeah, still needed sense of danger, adventure and - most importantly - fun back into the. 2016 Ramones Productions, Inc. Although not the Ramones most renowned or “classic” album, Adios Amigos could easily be called the Ramones “best” album. The album begins “on 11” and keeps up the aggressive pace all the way from “ I don’t want to grow up” to “I don’t want to die in Berlin”. The shame is, with all over the radio friendly punk bands that the Ramones inspired coming out to the mainstream around the time of this album, that they decided to put out such a solid punk rock recording and cal it quits. Joey Ramone’s writing ability was at its best, and CJ Ramone even gets in on the action, best displayed on “The Crusher”. I won’t give you to many spoilers, but if you see this LP out in the wild, buy that bitch!
